DeleteUnless you're mixing them, there isn't much of a point.

ReplyDeleteWhen Mike first made the flash in 2012, he drew Airi from a random screenshot and decided to make a flash out of it. He didn't bother looking up who it actually was or keeping the source image, and so he just named her "Megumi".
DeleteIt wasn't until like February 2014 that someone posted the "original hues of megumi" flash, which blew our minds as much as everyone else's, since Tom and I had been digging around trying to find what she was actually from but hadn't found anything.
tl;dr, we didn't know her actual name when the flash first started out, and now we've just left it.

ReplyDeleteOne of my /a/non friends happened upon this on /f/ and showed it to me. Now I have it open all the time regardless of what I am doing. There is a sort of beauty in how simple and ingenious this single file is and others that I have given this to seem to recognize this as well. I hope to contribute in some way when I have the time. ReplyDeleteOur source script had a bug and set the file as .png, rather than .jpg. Should work now.

ReplyDeleteI call it 2bitting, since the packed images only have black and transparent.
DeleteIn GIMP I use the Threshold Tool, and Pain.NET had something similar IIRC.
Looking into dithering can also help.
None of the pictures seem to be loading and give me this error

I don't think it's anything malicious. The server our images and respacks are hosted on keeps having changes made to it by it's owner, so we'll probably relocate everything to a more reliable spot one of these days.
